Under the current technology, some types of paper garbages are hard to recycle and reuse. It costs high and is not in line with economic benefits, especially to the developing countries. They will be compressed to landfills, wait for natural decompose, or be incinerated most of the time.
Garbages like tissues, napkins, paper diapers, and food package papers are hard to recycle because they have been polluted by stains like oil.
Photos, postcards, carbon papers, receipts, and sticky notes had been printed by ink, their components became complicated. It cost high to retexture them.
Almost all the paper cups and food containers have a pe-coated inside. It provides great waterproof performance but makes the recycling job become more difficult because it’s hard to separate them.
A. To sort out the garbages with high recovery value first before throwing them into the dustbin, make sure they won’t be polluted by the other wastes.
B. Don’t put those garbages which has been polluted into the recyclable bin, such as the food containers and packages. All soda cans should be empty, bottle and the cap should go into different bins.
C. Wastepaper should be subdivided during processing, removing the non-paper accessories. It will be nice to pack the different types of paper stuff separately, making recycling easy.
D. You also need to take care of those paper that contains your private information, such as the express waybills and financial accounts, to avoid privacy breaches.
E. Do not mix the good paper garbages with the others like leftovers, or the papers can not be recycled but only can be landfill and burned away.
The economic value is just one reason for the waste paper reclamation promotion. Nowadays, we can not live without paper products. To recycle paper garbages properly means a lot to the environment.
A ton of waste paper can be reprocessed into about 850-kilogram high-quality recycled paper, saving 3 cubic meters of wood, 100 cubic meters of water, 300-kilogram chemical materials, 1.2-ton coal, 600 KWH. Suppose we plan to produce 20000 tons of recycled paper with waste paper. In that case, we can save about 66 thousand cubic meters of wood, which is equivalent to protecting 520 thousand trees and increasing a large forest area.
